“Starting here at Imperial Valley College has truly helped set me up to transfer to one of my dream schools. I have had nothing but support from everyone here and I feel very prepared for my journey at UC Davis, I wouldn’t change a thing about my experience!” "Starting here at Imperial Valley College has truly helped set me up to transfer to one of my dream schools. “IVC always had my back — snacks when I was hungry, tutoring at MESA, counseling to shove me in the right direction, now I’m going to my dream university! Thanks to my friendly local college.” "IVC always had my back—snacks when I was hungry, tutoring at MESA, counseling to shove me in the right direction. Now I’m going to my dream university!

“When I started at IVC, I never thought that continuing to a university was a possibility for me. I have 3 amazing kids and getting a bachelor’s at my dream university seemed like a stretch. However, through the NextGen Learning to Lead program, I got the amazing opportunity to visit CSUMB, and I realized that my educational journey did not end at IVC. I have the opportunity to continue my education, move onto campus, and join this amazing Agriculture Plant Science program, all while experiencing this exciting new season alongside my children. I could not be more excited!” "When I started at IVC, I never thought that continuing to a university was a possibility for me. “In the 2 years that I spent here in IVC, I've had the honor to meet some of the most amazing people, teachers, mentors, and new friends. One I would specifically like to mention is Mr. Marquez, not only has he been a wonderful teacher, but a great inspiration. IVC helped me finish my general education and get my associates, but it also helped me prepare for the future and the challenges it would bring. So to the amazing staff and faculty. Thank you for helping me on my journey to my career, and the education that I dreamed of. "In the 2 years that I spent here at IVC, I met amazing teachers, mentors, and friends. “My thoughts about my transfer were surprising. I first got accepted to SDSU main campus and was very excited because it was my dream school. Applying for schools was hard for me but the workshops here is what saved me so much. I got the help I needed and was able to apply. My parents knew about the SDSU and how much I loved the school. I decided to attend SDSU-IV and they were supportive. I believe everything happens for a reason and I’m going to SDSU-IV for a reason. I’m glad I was able to get so much help at IVC during this process. It made my transfer experience so much better. I hope SDSU-IV is a good school and I’m able to become a teacher. If anyone has the opportunity to come to the workshops to help when applying for schools, please attend.” "Applying for schools was hard for me, but the workshops here are what saved me. “My transfer experience as a student has been both exciting and challenging. Moving from one school to another required me to adapt to a new environment, different expectations, and new people. At first, I felt nervous about fitting in and learning how everything worked, but over time I became more comfortable and confident at IVC. I’m excited to transfer to SDSU. This is an important step for me as a student, and I feel proud to continue my education at a new level. Moving from IVC to SDSU means I will have new opportunities, more academic challenges, and a chance to grow in my major. I’m looking forward to meeting new people, learning from different professors, and a new campus. Even though leaving IVC is a big change, I feel ready and motivated for this next chapter in my education. "My transfer experience has been both exciting and challenging. “At first, you might doubt if you are worth some things, maybe even doubt about continuing college. It gets hard sometimes, but you will always find your muse who encourages and motivates you to keep on going. Transferring might be questionable, but in the end it will be worth it.” "It gets hard sometimes, but you will always find your muse who encourages and motivates you to keep on going. “Transfer experience was smooth. My counselors were very helpful. The transfer center has many useful resources for students to use. As hard as college may get, never give up on your goals. If you have questions, just ask, these resources are here for you. Good luck to everyone on your future endeavors."

“Being first generation, I had a lot of questions my family could not answer, because of this I felt lost when I did my application process. Thankfully, the Transfer Center offered multiple workshops which helped me get my requirements in order. Even as I write this, they helped me with concern. The people at IVC are here to help, so NEVER feel nervous to ask for help.”

“I don’t have words to thank you for all the opportunities to be where I am today. Thank you for all these years and for having faith in me. I want to give special thanks to my counselors, my professor, for being such an amazing instructor. I also want to give special thanks to my Correctional Academy instructors. Thank you for changing my life and my loved ones. I never imagined myself being here with all you graduating today. I’m transferring to SDSU to continue my studies in Criminal Justice; this is one of my biggest dreams. Like I always was, it’s never too late to make a dream come true.”
