ReadSpeaker is an innovative tool integrated into Canvas that enhances accessibility and supports diverse learning needs for both faculty and students. By converting text-based content into natural-sounding speech, ReadSpeaker allows educators to provide an alternative way for students to engage with course materials, making it easier for those with reading difficulties or visual impairments to access information. Pronto is an application that will allow you to communicate with other students in your course as well as your instructor. Pronto allows for instance chat, messaging, group meetings, and even real-time translation. You can find Pronto in Canvas; you can also get the app for your smartphone.

Some of your instructors may use Honorlock to proctor online exams.
Honorlock is a remote proctoring service that creates a fair testing environment for all students by protecting exams and academic integrity.
Honorlock's remote proctoring services combine the benefits of AI software with those of live test proctors. Honorlock's proctoring software monitors your exam session and alerts a live, US-based test proctor if it detects any problems. This means that you won't be watched during the entire exam. Once alerted, our human proctors have the opportunity to assess the situation and then enter your exam session, via chat, to help you get back on track.

Turnitin is a plagiarism checker and AI detection tool. It scans student essays for plagiarized content as well as possible AI usage. Some of your instructors may use Turnitin to check your essays for plagiarism. If your instructor does use Turnitin, you will be notified before submitting your assignment.

Zoom is a video conferencing software tool. Zoom is used throughout IVC for online learning. As a student, you do not need a Zoom account to join a Zoom meeting. All you need is the Zoom link that your instructor will provide. You can join a Zoom meeting from a computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone.
