K-12 Concurrent Enrollment and Dual Enrollment Students – High school students taking Imperial Valley College courses through dual or concurrent enrollment need approval from their parent, high school, and the college. To obtain approval, students must follow the Dual Enrollment - How to Enroll Steps each semester and K-12 Concurrent Enrollment – Getting started.


Before you can register for class, you must complete a CCCApply college application for Imperial Valley College. A link to the application is below this important information including preparing the documents you will need and step-by-step instructions.

Application Steps

  1. Create a CCCApply account with your valid email address or mobile phone number.
  2. (New) CCCApply ID.me Verification: Starting February 2, 2024, CCCApply will integrate identity verification through ID.me. ID.me will help protect student identities and prevent fraudulent students from taking spots in IVC classes.

 

ID me VERIFY YOUR IDENTITY WITH ID.ME

  1. Please note that the following students may not be able to complete the ID.me process and may opt-out:
    • No valid identity documentation from country of origin
    • No permanent address (housing insecure/homeless)
    • No Internet access or a smartphone
    • Justice Involved (incarcerated, foster youth, juvenile detention)
    • Minors (Under the age of 18)
  2. Complete all fields of the Imperial Valley College application, skipping a field may cause delays.
  3. Submit your application by clicking Submit.
  4. At the confirmation page, click Continue.
  5. Once your application is accepted, you will receive your IVC Student ID (G) number via email within an hour or so.

For students unable to use ID.me, connect with the 24/7 student support live chat to verify your identity. For assistance with ID.me, please contact the helpdesk at CCCHelp.info.

Acceptable documents for identity verification (may require more than one of the following):

  • Government-issued ID such as a current Driver’s License or State ID card
  • Passport or Passport Card
  • U.S. Permanent Resident Card
  • Employment Authorization Document

Once the application is submitted, you will receive either a notification that includes your assigned IVC Student ID (G) number and your IVC email account or a notification of a Delayed application. If your account is Delayed, you will receive an email within 1-3 business days, with information on your next steps. We will send the email to the address you provided in the application. Check your spam or junk folder to ensure that you receive the email.

About CCCApply ID.me Verification

Self-Service: Have your documents ready for verification. You will typically need a driver’s license, state ID, passport, or passport card.

Video Call (If unable to use Self-Service): Will need two forms of documents.

  • First documents: Government Issue ID
  • Secondary documents: Social Security Card or TIN (if applicable), pay stub, electric bill, W2, bank/loan or financial institution statement, U.S. birth certificate with official seal.

Unacceptable Documents

  • No digital driver’s license or state IDs.
  • Expired or invalid documents
  • Employee ID cards/badges
  • Letters from banks
  • Unemployment documentation
  • Unofficial student records

 

Prepare to Apply

What you need for the Application

Required for the application:
  • Your Full Name
  • Mailing Address
  • Social Security Number (SSN)/ TIN/ Tax ID*
Helpful documents, but not required to complete the application:
  • High School Transcripts (if you have them)
  • Last English and Math classes completed and grade.
  • Information about your parents (optional demographic information like highest level of education)

*If you do not have a SSN, TIN or Tax ID, visit or call Admission & Records (760) 355-6101.

If you’ve encountered any difficulties with your CCCApply Application and it's been more than 3 days without an email or G# please submit the following form.

Achieve your educational goals in less time with a Comprehensive Student Education Plan (CSEP) or a Student Education Plan (ASEP). Call (760) 355-6543 or email from your IVC email to schedule an individual appointment with a Counselor. Your CSEP/ASEP will help you determine the classes to register for this semester.

Determining Your Classes

Your high school GPA and coursework will be used to determine your placement in English, and Math classes, the foundation for all other classes here at IVC. Your counselor will assist you with determining where to start during your appointment to create a Student Education Plan.

If High School records are unavailable or student studied outside the United States, you will complete the Guided Self-Placement process, Self-Reported High School GPA will be used. You must see a counselor for assistance.

The placement of students into English and Math courses will be based on one or more of the following. High School Coursework, High School Grades, and High School Grade point average.

At Your Counseling Appointment

You will need to bring:

  • High school students and recent high school graduates: your high school transcripts
  • If you attended another university or college, an unofficial copy of your transcripts (whether coursework was completed or not).
  • Plan to take notes.
  • Bring your questions!
  • Learn more about Counseling.

Dual Enrollment

High school students taking Imperial Valley College courses through dual need approval from their parent, high school, and the college. To obtain approval, students must follow the steps below each semester. Dual Enrollment - How to Enroll Steps

Concurrent Enrollment

High school students wishing to enroll while still attending high school must submit a Concurrent Enrollment Form. High School Concurrent Enrollment

Veterans

Meet with the Military and Veterans Success Center staff to complete a Student Education Plan and options specific to your status as a veteran or dependent of a veteran. Veterans Enrollment Steps

You can complete Abbreviated Education Plan online or schedule a counseling appointment to complete an Abbreviated or Comprehensive Student Educational Plan.

After you receive your student ID (G00XXXXXX), complete the Online Orientation. At orientation you will learn about our academic majors and degrees, policies, important academic dates, and tips on how to be a successful student. Complete the Online Orientation by inputting your First Name, Last Name, Student ID, and current Term. Click on ENTER, If you enter as a guest Orientation will not be marked as completed.

Upon successful completion of the online orientation, you will be able to demonstrate an understanding of:

  • The requirements for your educational and career pathway.
  • Imperial Valley College placements for English and Math.
  • College success skills, programs, and resources.

Note: Completing the assessment process for Language Arts and Math is an important step in qualifying for priority registration. By completing steps 3 and 4 you may be eligible for priority registration.

We’ve developed a step-by-step guide to apply for financial aid. We use the results of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or the California Dream Act Application to determine eligibility. You can check your financial aid status online through WebSTAR.

Within 1-3 Business days of your application (Step 1), we will send your registration date. You will register for classes from your Student Education Plan (Step 3) through the WebSTAR portal. To register for classes (and add or drop classes). Log in to WebSTAR.

For your first semester of registration (priority), you will receive earlier appointments if you have completed the enrollment steps 2-4.

Student-Parents

At Imperial Valley College, we like to help all our students reach their full potential. Student-Parents at IVC can receive priority registration, take advantage of academic and health counseling, join clubs, and support from departments across campus.

Request Student Parent Priority Registration

Students can pay by debit or with credit card through their student account in WebSTAR. After logging in to your student account, click on the Student Services menu, then Student Records, then Account Summary.

The Business Office/Cashier windows are open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for in-person payments and general account questions. You may also contact us at (760) 355-6478 for assistance with your account or visit the Administrative Services webpage. To make a payment online using a debit/credit card, please login to your WebSTAR account.

Fees will be charged for all classes not dropped by the drop deadline (see Important Dates and Deadlines in the current class schedule).

 

The IVC bookstore provides college textbooks and other course materials, IVC gifts, apparel (t-shirts and other clothing), reference books, school supplies and works with special orders upon request. With friendly staff to assist with books you need for your schedule.

Don't wait in line, have your textbooks sent to you when you use our online bookstore. For any questions, contact the IVC Bookstore (Bldg. 1900) or give us a call on (760) 355-6394.

Print out or save your schedule, show up early and attend the first meeting of each class. Some instructors will drop students who don’t attend class on the first meeting day. Good luck and have a great semester!
