On Jan. 25, the San Diego Imperial County Community Colleges Association met virtually with Assembly Member Eduardo Garcia and the office of State Sen. Ben Hueso.
In attendance from Imperial Valley College were Student Trustee Jorge Silva, trustees Isabel Solis and Jerry Hart, students Sebastian Martinez, Aaron Maciel, President/Superintendent Dr. Martha Garcia, Communications and Governmental Relations Officer Elizabeth Espinoza, and Student Development and Activities Director Yareli Rivera. They participated in advocating for online learning, mental health, basic needs, addressing racial inequities, expansion of baccalaureate degrees at California Community Colleges and strong workforce, training California's displaced workforce.
