The primary goal of the CARE program is to provide additional support services that ensure the academic success of single parents receiving government cash aid (TANF). There is a heavy emphasis on personal counseling and on referrals to community agencies that provide services beneficial to CARE students.
The CARE program also provides academic and career counseling, childcare stipends, priority registration, as well as all of the services provided to EOPS students.
Students applying to the CARE program must also apply to the EOPS program.

Who is eligible for EOPS/CARE?
To qualify for CARE students must meet both criteria for EOPS and CARE.

If none of the above are met the EOPS/CARE Coordinator may take other relevant criteria into consideration to determine eligibility for the Program as outlined in Title V of the California Education Code.
