Correctional Academy

Open enrollment for Fall will begin on Wednesday, June 3rd, 2026.

The correctional academy we offer at the college is a state of California certification in the Adult Corrections CORE Course. This certification is entry-level training for local corrections jobs, such as working the Imperial County Sheriff's Office jail or as a detention officer. It does not qualify you to work in the State prisons with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which has its own hiring academy.
