As an educational institution that values critical thinking and academic integrity, we are dedicated to addressing AI in ways that enhance learning and reflect our values of fairness, inclusiveness, and innovation.
IVC values critical thinking and communication skills and considers academic integrity an essential component of meaningful learning. The use of AI tools as a replacement for students’ own thinking, writing, or quantitative reasoning goes against our mission and violates academic honesty policy. Unless explicitly permitted by your instructor, submitting AI-generated content as your own work will be considered academic dishonesty or plagiarism.
Any use of AI tools, including but not limited to ChatGPT, Claude, Grammarly, CoPilot and Dall-E, must align with your instructor’s course policies and be properly cited when required. If you are unsure whether a specific tool or usage is acceptable, check with your instructor and/or refer to the course syllabus.
