Students may use financial aid to help cover some or all of their on-campus housing costs. Depending on your financial aid package, grants, scholarships, loans and other forms of assistance may significantly reduce the amount you pay for housing.
We encourage all students to explore their financial aid options to see how financial aid may help cover on-campus housing costs. For more information about financial aid eligibility, visit the IVC Financial Aid page.
The rates below are for the 2026-27 academic year and cover the full 11.5-month license agreement term. The SDSU Imperial Valley license agreement begins on August 20, 2026 and ends on July 30, 2027. Rates are listed per resident and include furniture and utilities.
The housing rate depends on whether you select a double-occupancy bedroom (two residents per bedroom) or a single-occupancy bedroom (one resident per bedroom). Depending on bedroom occupancy, each apartment accommodates between four (4) and eight (8) residents. Please note: Single-occupancy room types will have only one resident assigned to the bedroom. However, the bedroom will remain furnished as a double-occupancy bedroom, including two beds, desks and wardrobes. No furniture will be removed.

Freeze Date: On the freeze date, we record your enrolled units to determine your financial aid eligibility for the semester. Only required courses will count. After the freeze date, adding or dropping classes will not change your aid amount. To count late-start classes, you must be enrolled or waitlisted in WebSTAR by the freeze date, they will be added to your enrollment status for payment after the class begins. If you haven’t been awarded aid by the freeze date, your unit count will be based on your enrollment at the time you’re awarded. Aid for past terms is based on completed units. If you're not enrolled on the freeze date and later add short-term classes, your aid will be based on your enrollment at that time. If you drop classes before the freeze date or never attend, your aid will be reduced and you may have to repay funds.
Return to Title IV >60% Drop Date: If you stop attending all financial aid-eligible classes before 60% of the payment period has passed, we may have to recalculate your aid, and you might have to repay some funds. The date listed here applies to full semester courses, the date can be different for short-term classes. The withdrawal date used to determine if you attended at least 60% is based on the last day you attended or participated in class, as reported by your instructor—not the day you dropped the class in WebSTAR.
