The American Nurses Association defines Nursing as the protection, promotion, and optimization of health and abilities, prevention of illness and injury, alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response, and advocacy in the care of individuals, families, communities, and populations. IVC offers an exciting and rigorous Nursing Program that includes Associate Degree Registered Nursing (ADN) and Licensed Vocational Nursing (LVN). Allied Health Programs are also available and include Paramedic (EMTP), Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT), Medical Assisting (MA), Pharmacy Technician (PT), Nurse Assistant (CNA), and Home Health Aide (HHA).
Whether you want to work in a hospital or nursing setting, an ambulance, a pharmacy, a clinic, or any healthcare related area, the Nursing & Allied Health Department (NAH) can help you succeed. Faculty are experts in their area of instruction and work together to provide students with the best education available. To ensure success, a counselor is available to guide students in NAH programs. The counselor is located in the Counseling Office, Building 100. The NAH Department also has an active and innovative Nursing Learning/Tutorial Center and Computer Lab and well equipped state-of-the-art simulation labs for training, all located within the 2100 Health Sciences Building.
