ABOUT ASSOCIATED STUDENTS GOVERNMENT

The student Activities/Governance Program is an essential and fundamental part of the college's educational mission. As the center of college community life, it serves as a laboratory of citizenship, training students in social responsibility and for leadership in our democracy. Through its various committees and staff, it provides a cultural, social and recreational program aiming to make free-time activity a cooperative factor with study in education.
In all its processes it encourages self-directed activity, giving maximum opportunity for self-realization and for growth in individual social competency and group effectiveness. Its goal is the development of the total person as well as stimulating the intellect. Student Activities/Governance Program serves as a unifying force in the life of the college, cultivating enduring regard for and loyalty of the college.

WELCOME MESSAGE FROM THE IVC ASG PRESIDENT
Itzel Photo

 Welcome to Imperial Valley College!

My name is Itzel Landeros, the Associated Student Government (ASG) President for the 2022-2023 academic school year. On behalf of the Associated Student Government, I would like to welcome all students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

A little bit about myself, I was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. Approximately four years ago, my family and I had the great opportunity to move to the United States of America due to my father's job. In this experience, I enriched myself with the knowledge of a new culture, language, and lifestyle. I also learned that life is full of opportunities if I choose to view each encounter as an opportunity to show myself that I am capable and responsible for my own success.

With this in mind, one of my personal goals for this school year is to encourage you to take advantage of any and all opportunities that we offer to be involved and become a part of the IVC culture on campus, whether it is by joining a club or starting one of your own, joining sports teams, serving as a Student Senator on ASG, or in other leadership programs, and/or attending campus events, especially as we continue to transition to an in-person modality.

If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, concerns, or any ideas on how to improve our campus, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at any time by email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or feel free to stop by the Student Affairs office in building 1000, where you will always, be welcomed.

ASG is here to represent and support you with more than words but actions. So, help us make sure your voice is heard as we strive to empower you with the necessary tools to turn our dreams into plans, freely define and achieve our own definition of success. We hope to make your experience at IVC as enjoyable and memorable as possible, while creating an environment of trust and positivity among students and the community.

I am excited and look forward to all the great things I know we will achieve together.

I wish you all a great academic school year!!
