Imperial Valley College has been recognized by the Carnegie Foundation's 2025 Student Access and Earnings Classification as an "Opportunity College and University." Out of nearly 4,000 institutions reviewed nationwide, IVC stands among the top performers nationally for both access and outcomes.
To earn this designation, institutions must demonstrate excellence in two critical areas:
Access Ratio ≥ 1.0: Enrolling students from underrepresented and financially disadvantaged backgrounds at or above regional norms.
Earnings Ratio ≥ 1.25: Graduates earning at least 25% more than expected for their demographic groups.
