Four weeks on the campus of UC San Diego will involve students in a wide range of activities while living in the residence halls. Students return with a sense of what to expect when they are ready to leave for college.

Summer Bridge

Summer Bridge at IVC will begin on June 24th to August 1st, 2013.

Seniors will have the opportunity to enroll in a Course (3 units) at Imperial Valley College.

High School Seniors are transitioning towards higher education and it is important that they have a feel for the academics that awaits. At the end of their senior year, students are transitioned to the summer bride component where they begin taking college level courses at Imperial Valley College. The program pays for the student's classes and books for that summer term. Seniors also participate in workshops, tutoring, and mentoring for preparation in their new environment. Juniors who have already completed on Summer Residential and qualify per IVC guidelines have the option of taking Summer courses with bridge students.

Summer High School

Students who are not able to travel to Summer Residential because of having to make up courses or advance in their studies at their own high school, continue to receive the support they need for success. Tutoring and mentoring are focused on the student's completion of the course and the told needed for advancement towards the next phase of the material studied.
