CRRSAA and ARP Grants

The US Department of Education directs each institution receiving funds under section 314 to submit this report describing the use of funds distributed from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds (HEERF) under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) and the American Rescue Plan Act, 2021 (ARP).
  1. Imperial Valley College (IVC) has returned the Certification and Agreement and is using these funds to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

  2. The amounts IVC has received from the Department for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students are listed below:
    1. CRRSAA – $2,497,575
    2. ARP - $14,137,500
  3. The total amount of Emergency Financial Aid Grants distributed to students under the CRRSAA and ARP programs to date:
    • As of 3/18/2021: $972,467
    • As of 7/15/2021: $1,198,500
    • As of 9/16/2021: $7,840,000
  4. Estimated number of students eligible to receive an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under the CRRSAA and ARP: 12,000

  5. The total number of students who have received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under the CRRSAA and ARP programs to date:
    • As of 3/18/2021: 2795
    • As of 7/15/2021: 2397
    • As of 9/16/2021: 5733
  6. The methods used to determine which students receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants and how much they will receive under the CRRSAA and ARP programs vary by term and are listed below:

SPRING 2021

  • If you are enrolled in 6 or more units for Spring 2021 (at the time of determination) and not concurrently enrolled in high school, you may be eligible to receive a grant. Part-time (6to 11.5 units) students are eligible for $250. Full-time (12 or more units) students are eligible for $500.
  • Disproportionately impacted students (previously determined to have exceptional need which include former foster youth, homeless and non-state residents) will qualify for higher amounts. Part-time (6 to 11.5 units) students are eligible for $750. Full-time (12 or more units) students are eligible for $1000.
  • If you are determined eligible, confirmation that funds will be used on any component of cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus will be certified by email.
  • Payments will be made by check unless the student has previously chosen a disbursement method with BankMobile.

SUMMER 2021

  • If you are enrolled in 3 or more units for Summer 2021 (at time of determination) and not concurrently enrolled in high school, you are eligible to receive a grant of $500.
  • If you are determined eligible, confirmation that funds will be used on any component of cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus will be certified by email.
  • Payments will be made by check unless the student has previously chosen a disbursement method with BankMobile.

FALL 2021

  • If you are enrolled in 3 or more units for Fall 2021 (at time of determination) and not concurrently enrolled in high school, you are eligible to receive a grant.

    • If you are enrolled in 3 to 8.5 units, you are eligible for $1000.
    • If you are enrolled in 9 or more units, you are eligible for $1500.
  • Disproportionately impacted students (previously determined to have an exceptional need which includes former foster youth, homeless, Dreamers, and non-state residents) will qualify for higher amounts.

    • If you are enrolled in 3 to 8.5 units, you are eligible for $1500.
    • If you are enrolled in 9 or more units, you are eligible for $2000.
  • If you are determined eligible, confirmation that funds will be used on any component of cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus will be certified by email.

  • Payments will be made by check unless the student has previously chosen a disbursement method with BankMobile.
