Annual Satisfactory Academic Progress Evaluations
Beginning with the 2013-2014 aid year, eligibility for financial aid will be determined annually using the grade point average, completion rate and maximum timeframe standards described in the 2013-14 SAP policy available on our website. All academic coursework attempted through Spring 2013 will be evaluated using these standards. If these standards are not met for all coursework attempted by the end of the Spring 2013 you will be disqualified for the entire year. You will be notified via your IVC email account and WebSTAR of the Disqualified (DQ) status. Disqualified students with special circumstances may petition for the 2013 Fall Semester, please see the SAP policy for details. Students may also remove deficiencies for prior academic years in the Summer Session without receiving financial aid. Otherwise, SAP status will be re-evaluated at the next annual evaluation at the end of Spring 2014. Students who meet SAP standards at that point will be reinstated. Please review the SAP policy at:
Enrollment Status Freeze Date
Financial aid disbursements will be based on your enrollment status as of a set date each semester, known as the "freeze date". This is generally the first disbursement date of the semester and will be based on census rosters. If you add units after this date you will not receive an increase in your award. If you apply during the semester and the semester "freeze date" has passed, your enrollment status will be determined and frozen based on the date of your actual first disbursement. If you are paid for full or short term classes that you never attend, this may result in an overpayment and/or a reduced second disbursement.
Fall 2013 Enrollment Freeze Date: September 9, 2013
Spring 2014 Enrollment Freeze Date: February 10, 2014
Summer 2014 Enrollment Freeze Date: July 7, 2014
The Work-Study Process has changed for the 2013-14 award year. Students who have completed their financial aid file and been determined eligible for Work-Study will receive a message in WebSTAR providing instructions on when to contact the Work-Study Coordinator. On a first-come, first-served basis, students will then be directed to our online job listing to find and secure a job. Students will have 30 days to secure a position before their estimated award is canceled and given to another student on the wait list. Work-Study funds are very limited and there is no guarantee of job placement.
