The Imperial Valley College Mascot Identity Task Force invites the Imperial Valley community to participate in a second virtual Town Hall at 2 p.m. March 10 via Zoom and Facebook Live, where they will discuss the findings and data of the recent mascot survey.

The Task Force asks the community to please register in advance at imperial.edu/mascot. The public may ask questions and provide feedback regarding the data and further clarity of the process.

The Mascot Identity Task Force is presenting the fi ndings to various participatory governance committees for discussion and further recommendations, such as the Associated Students Government, President's Cabinet, Public Relations and Marketing, Academic Senate, College Leadership Council, and College Council.

The survey has been distributed to current IVC students, employees, alumni, and community members and the data can be accessed at imperial.edu/mascot. As a result of the recent fi ndings, on Feb. 22 the ASG unanimously passed a resolution to make a recommendation to the ICCD board to change IVC's current mascot.

The Task Force will be holding a media availability at 2 p.m. March 10 via Zoom in conjunction with the Town Hall. The media is asked to reserve questioning for the end of the Town Hall to allow for public feedback.
