IVC employees load up emergency groceries and gift donations for students in need. |
The Student Equity & Achievement Program is home to the IVC Kitchen and recently had an outpour of support from IVC employees to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable students.
On Dec. 10, our Basic Needs team and several IVC employee volunteers came together to make the holidays special for our students. At that Basic Needs distribution, 172 students picked up enough staple foods to feed themselves and 586 family members, for a total of 758 people served. For many of our students who attend our monthly distributions, these emergency groceries are the sole source of food for themselves and their families.
This month, IVC's Basic Needs team decided to host a gift drive to provide students and their families with more than just emergency food for the holidays.
