Terry Arena - Symbiotic Crisis: Southeast (Imperial Valley)

Matthew Picon: Coyotes, Whiskey and Fireworks

Two Person Show opens with a reception for the artists 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1. Music will be by IVC student, Victor Bosc. Exhibit will be on view through Wednesday, Sept. 28

Terry Arena currently lives and works in Ventura, California. She holds a masters degree in painting from California State University, Northridge. Her work has been shown at the Museum of Art & History, Lancaster; Carnegie Art Museum, Oxnard; and Long Beach Museum of Art.

Matthew Picon is from San Diego, California. He has a master of fine arts in sculpture from San Diego State University and bachelor of fine arts in intermedia from Arizona State University. He has shown installations in and around San Diego; Tempe and Glendale, Arizona and Sarasota, Florida.

Borderland: Life on the Border. This show will be open to all artists - residents, students, faculty, staff. There is no cost to submit your artwork. Deadline to submit is Wednesday, Sept. 28.

Opening reception will be 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6. The show will be on display through Wednesday, Oct. 26.

Marco Miranda: Deformations. Opens 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2. On view through Wednesday, Nov. 30. NOTE: This reception is on Wednesday, due to Mr. Miranda's schedule.

Marco Miranda holds a bachelor's in fine arts from the University of Sonora. He has been showing his artwork in Mexico and California. He lives in Mexicali, Mexico.

Boundless Imagination: Abstraction Remixed. Paula Izydorek, Jack Reilly and Others. Opens with reception for the artists 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 2. On view through Wednesday, March 29.

Paula Izydorek currently lives and works in Cleveland, Ohio. She received a bachelor of fine arts from the San Francisco Art Institute. Her work has been shown in San Francisco, New York, Miami, Cleveland and Los Angeles.

Jack Reilly currently divides his time between California and Hawaii. He holds a master's degree in fine arts from Florida State University and moved to Los Angeles where his artwork has been shown widely. He has a deep resume of exhibits, inclusion in collections and publications.

Some select local artists will be included in this show by invitation.

Fresh Vision: Locality and Juncture. Israel Campos, Michael Ruiz and others. Opens 4-7 p.m. Thursday, April 6. On display through Wednesday, April 26.

 

Israel Campos of Los Angeles holds a bachelors of art in print media and mathematics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and a masters of art and fine art in visual art and printmaking from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has exhibited in Madison, Santa Cruz and Perth, Australia. 

Michael Ruiz of San Diego has a bachelor of fine arts in art practice from University of California, Berkeley, and a master of fine arts from Vermont College of Fine Arts.  His work has been shown in San Diego, Chula Vista, California; Chicago, Illinois; Nashville, Tennessee; and Montpelier, Vermont; among others.

Some select local artists will be included in this show by invitation.

IVC Student Exhibition 2017: Opens with a reception for the artists 4-7 p.m. Thursday, May 4. Awards ceremony will be at 5. On view in the gallery through Wednesday, May 31.

This show is open to ALL students - anyone who has taken a class from Summer 2016 through Spring 2017. At least one artwork from each students is guaranteed to be shown as long as it meets exhibit guidelines. There is no cost to submit artwork for consideration for exhibition.

Artworks will be juried by a qualified art professional who is not employed by IVC. Awards will include art supply gift cards.

Deadline to submit is Wednesday, April 26.
