WHAT DO YOU CONSIDER TO BE THE STRENGTHS OF
THIS COLLEGE?
"The quality of the instructors and the low
student-to-instructor ratio, which provides for a very personalized
approach to higher education. IVC is a special place because of the
unique people who walk our campus and how much they care about the
success of their student-athletes."
HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS YOUR FIRST YEAR AS THE IVC
HEAD BASKETBALL COACH?
"Success. The first year laid the groundwork for
what I consider to be a very solid foundation".
"The Imperial Valley Men's Basketball Team
wrapped up its most successful Pacific Coast Conference season of
the decade recently and had three players selected to the 2005-2006
All-Conference Team". Tom Ronco, Special to the
Imperial Valley Press Newspaper, March 3, 2006.
We have set some very high standards for academic
excellence as well as instilled a basketball work ethic geared for
self-improvement. Our program has made steady gains from last year
and will continue year after year. The focus for the future is to
get the most out of our young men academically as well as
athletically".
WHAT ARE THE BIGGEST STRENGTHS OF THE BASKETBALL
PROGRAM?
"The family atmosphere that we have created is by
far our biggest strength. Not only within our team, but within our
campus. Our players are our main priority. Developing the
total person and player is important to us. Developing integrity
within a positive learning environment is important in our program. |

WHAT CAN INCOMING STUDENT-ATHLETES EXPECT FROM IVC?
"Students will be required to, and held accountable
for their actions. Class attendance is required and expected.
Academics come first and I know we have created an atmosphere that
is conducive to academic success and transferring. Athletically, they will be much better
basketball players when they leave here. They will work harder than
ever on their basketball skills and physical conditioning. Most
importantly, they will be better people when they leave. The reason I
know this is because of the environment and the type of people they
will be exposed to over the next couple of years. We want young men
who will act as ambassadors for this college.
