The Western Grebe can be found wintering in
the Imperial Valley in freshwater lakes and at the Salton Sea.
Similar in habits, coloration, and size to the
Clark's Grebe - it has a slightly longer neck
with a black skullcap that reaches the upper eye area. Clark's Grebes'
eyes are completely surrounded by white.
