When fields of hay have been cut
(all year-round in our area) some small nesting animals such as rabbits
or pheasants may be killed by the mowers, which provide a meal for these
common scavengers.
Look for them circling high over Imperial Valley farm fields. Roosting vultures can also be found on big trees in the early morning hours waiting for the sun to warm the air during our winter months along the New River and a few other places. |
