A winter visitor to the Salton Sea shoreline,
it feeds as it wades in the water by moving its head from side-to-side.
Bright yellow legs and a slightly up-turned bill help to identify this Imperial Valley shorebird. The Lesser Yellowlegs is smaller and less likely to be seen inland this far from the Pacific coast. |
