ASPIRE PROGRAM

Acknowledging Students Prepared in Recognized Excellence

For 2013 Imperial Valley Graduating Seniors

ASPIRE is a priority registration option, for one academic year, for Imperial County high school seniors who are eligible for college-level math and English courses and desire to pursue higher education. This option can allow a student to complete the requirements for an Associate's Degree and the CSU or IGETC transfer general education packages within two years. The Transfer Center Counseling Faculty handles initial advising with the ability of students to apply for additional services through programs such as the Student Support Services (SSS), Extended Opportunity Program & Services (EOPS) and Transfer Center programs. ASPIRE Program Application Requirements:

  • APPLY TO IMPERIAL VALLEY COLLEGE - Apply on-line for FAll 2013 at: www.imperial.edu (Available - March 15, 2013)
  • COMPLETE IVC's Accuplacer - IVC's Accuplacer can be taken when offered at your high school campus or at IVC; please refer to the testing schedule at the IVC website for testing dates and time at IVC. Students MUST complete the IVC ACCUPLACER Assessments in Language and Mathematics BEFORE the Friday, May 31, deadline!
  • APPLY TO IVC's ASPIRE - Click on the following link to print form: 2013_ASPIRE_Program_Application_5.pdf.  Please attach a copy of your Accuplacer results. A printout is provided after completing the assessment on campus or after meeting with an IVC counselor at your high school for advisement. Advisement usually takes place two weeks after testing.
