Total Expenses: This is our standard Cost of Attendance based on the housing plans you reported on your FAFSA or Student Information Worksheet. These costs are estimates only that are required in order for financial aid to be awarded and not the actual costs that a student will spend. Only mandatory fees* are owed to IVC and registration fees will be waived for students who qualify for the BOG Fee Waiver.

Family Contribution: This is the amount of money a family is expected to contribute each year to a student's educational costs. This figure is calculated by the Department of Education using the Federal Methodology Need Analysis and is based on the income and asset information you reported on your FAFSA.
Awards: Awards are listed by term and are based on full-time enrollment at Imperial Valley College. If you are not enrolled full-time at the time of disbursement, your payment will be adjusted based on your actual enrollment status. Although one amount is listed for each semester, Pell Grant and SEOG funds are divided into 2 payments during the semester. Visit the Financial Aid Disbursement webpage for information regarding disbursement dates. Fee waivers are not listed on your award letter but they are counted as a resource and will be posted to your account when you register for courses.
Payment Information: If your financial aid payments exceed any fees owed to IVC, you may be entitled to a financial aid refund. Financial aid refunds are paid to your IVC Debit Card approximately 10 days after disbursements appear on your account. If you do not have a card, one will be mailed to you shortly before your first payment date. Make sure Admissions and Records has the correct physical address with apartment number included. Once you receive your card, you will need to activate it and choose a refund method. Visit the Financial Aid Disbursement webpage for information regarding disbursement dates.
Fund Messages: Important information regarding specific financial aid funds will be posted here. Please read them carefully.
| Financial aid awards are subject to Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards which are evaluated each semester. Any changes to your awards will be posted on WebSTAR so please check your financial aid status regularly. If you have been determined ineligible for financial aid, a message of explanation will also be posted on WebSTAR. |
