The Behavioral & Social Sciences Division is one of the largest divisions at IVC and offers coursework for certificates and two year degrees. Besides providing IVC students with excellent preparation to transfer to four year-colleges and universities, this division seeks to go beyond simply meeting the communities’ traditional educational needs. In particular, it strives to stimulate the intellectual curiosity of Imperial County residents in local areas of study such as the written and oral histories of Mexico, the American Southwest, and the Imperial Valley.
