Mission Statement
The function of the Curriculum and Instruction Committee is to review all course descriptions and establish prerequisites for consistency, review suggested curricula, establish policies governing the approval of new departments and/or course programs, review graduation requirements, study general education goals, review present transfer course offerings to determine comparability with senior college offerings, and study needs of students and the community in an effort to enlarge occupation-centered courses.  The Committee is to assist in the preparation of class schedules, catalog materials, and other things that relate to the improvement of instruction.  The chairperson of this Committee shall be the Vice-President for Academic Services, and the following members shall be appointed by the Superintendent/President:  a student (to serve for non-confidential matters), all division chairpersons, Dean of Learning Services, Dean of Admissions and Student Activities, Dean of Vocational/Technical Education, Vice-President of Counseling Services, Dean of External Campus, Director of Disabled Students Programs and Services, Director of Athletics, Work Experience Coordinator, Director of Nursing Education and Health Technologies, and Director of Early Childhood Education.
