CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S MISSION

"A primary mission of the California Community College is to advance California's economic growth and global competitiveness through education, training, and services that contribute to continuous workforce improvement."

INTRODUCTION

To enhance and strengthen our ability to participate in and fulfill this primary mission of the California Community Colleges, IVC collaborates and partners with local and regional business, industry, and government.

Our community partners contribute to the success of our students by serving on program advisory councils, accreditation committees, program/department evaluation and review teams, hosting work experience/internship activities, attending and presenting during career fairs and equipment expos, and by making direct donations of services, equipment, and materials. Many of our partners and partnering agencies are a valued source of adjunct faculty and guest speakers.

IVC has developed career programs which reflect employment opportunities of our county and region. Advisory committees work closely with the College to assure each student the best in education and real employment opportunities upon graduation.
