English Division at Imperial Valley College

Emphasizing that mastery of written communication and reading comprehension help open the doors for a better future, the English Division offers both pre-collegiate basic skills courses as well as those leading to the Associate Degree, thereby introducing students to the rich world of ideas in literature, creative writing, linguistics, film, and more.  For those students not yet fluent in English, the English Division provides a comprehensive English as a Second Language (ESL) Program at both main campus and extended campus sites.
