Imperial Valley's Wright is PCAC Men's Athlete of the Week

The Pacific Coast Athletic Conference has honored Imperial Valley College basketball Player Lasalle Wright of Imperial Valley College as Men's Athlete of the Week.

Wright is a 6-foot-5 freshman small forward from Food & FinanceHigh School, one of a number of magnet schools that shares theWest 50th Street Campus in the borough of Manhattan in New York City.

Last week, he scored 65 points in three games as the Arabs placed second at the Irvine Valley Classic.

Wright scored 29 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in leading IVC to an 81-75 win over Santa Monica College on the first day of the tournament. He came back with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists as the Arabs downed Long Beach City College 98-94 in overtime in the semifinals. Then, in the championship game, Wright scored 17 points hauled in 10 rebounds in an 82-71 loss to state No. 9-ranked Ventura.
