BIO

Matt Okada, 24, enters his first year as an assistant coach with the mens basketball program. Okada grew up in Southern California, attending Narbonne HS in Harbor City, CA. Okada comes to IVC following a 6-year stint at Division I University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. He spent his first 3 years as a student manager and a semester as an executive offices intern with the Philadelphia 76ers of the NBA. Upon graduating with a sports management degree, Okada was hired as a full-time staff member, serving as the team's video coordinator for his final 3 seasons. The Pacific Tigers enjoyed great success during Okada's stay including two 20-win seasons, a Big West Conference Championship, and a runner-up finish in the College Insider Tournament in 2010. Okada also has extensive basketbal camp experience having worked as a counselor at camps for Pacific, Stanford, UCLA, Washington, and St. Mary's HS (Stockton).
