Arriving in the spring, flocks of
these birds build their nests in Imperial Valley marshes and drainage ditches
where cattail reeds grow.
They 'dance' on the banks to attract a mate and then stay throughout our hot summer before heading south to Mexico for the winter. There are ditches and a small pond across the street from the IVC campus at the Pioneers Museum, where you will usually find them. |
