Northern Mockingbird - (Mimus polyglottos)

Northern Mockingbird photo copyright by James E. Kuhn This is the State Bird of Texas.

A common year-round resident of the Imperial Valley, they have a variety of songs to sing.

Aggressive when nesting, they will attack cats and unwary people walking by.

Their white wing bars are easy to see when they fly.
